Obama’s unconstitutional decree.
The Obama administration has just announced that they will no longer defend the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) in court. In a statement released this morning, Attorney General Eric Holder explained that President Obama has decided that the definition of marriage contained in DOMA is unconstitutional, and has ordered that the Department of Justice should abdicate its constitutional duty and no longer defend DOMA against constitutional challenges. President Obama’s arrogant way of ruling the United States is getting ever more unconstitutional now since he issued this absurd decree that enourages more evil to creep into American society. It is not up to the President to decide which laws are constitutional. There is a judicial branch and there are courts to decide that. I have always favored a costitutional amendment defining marriage as one covenant of man and woman before God for life. This would put an end to both same-sex abomination and easy divorce.
The promotion of marriage to encourage the maintenance of stable relationships that facilitate to the maximum extent possible the rearing of children by both of their biological parents is a legitimate congressional concern. Nature’s God has created us male and female and both are to complement each other in the covenant of marriage. The lack of stable relationships causes poverty, crime and hurts children.
The Bible says: “Wash you, make you clean: put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil, learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow.” Isaiah 1:16,17.
Most people need to learn the old-time way again that we are taught in the Bible. Let us not vote for leaders who encourage evil doings but rather help others learn the principles taught in the Bible. Most people are deceived by what they picked up in the media about their way of life.
Please use the link below to tell Congress that you oppose President Obama’s decision to not act upon the Defense of Marriage Act. We need a President that stands up and says that same-sex marriage and abortion violate his conscience and therefore will be opposed by his administration. A good conscience would never decide to fight for the legalization of perversion and oppress the defense of moral values that once made the United States strong. The lack of those old-time Christian values are causing American’s decline and fading glory since the nation is turning into a divorced mess of entertained couch potatoes who can’t a Bible but just waste the day texting useless garbage to others. I just learned that the Obama Administration has abdicated its responsibility and is refusing to defend DOMA in federal litigation. This is a critical moment — it’s not up to one man, even our President, to decide which laws are constitutional and which are not. That’s why we have courts, and every law passed by Congress deserves a full and fair hearing.
It’s time for Congress to intervene and make sure that the Defense of Marriage Act is vigorously defended in federal court. If President Obama disagrees with DOMA, he should call on Congress to repeal it. But every federal law, especially one overwhelmingly passed by Congress less than fifteen years ago, is worthy of the best case that can be made in its defense.
For the sake of marriage and our constitutional system of government, with checks and balances between the branches, I strongly urge you to join a Congressional effort to intervene on behalf of DOMA in the pending federal litigation.
Here at www.solidrockfaith.om we have always warned our fellow Americans of the antichristian values that pervade the Obama aministration. We often wonder: Is This Still America? I saw a photo of a Baptist church in Tennessee in the early 1980s. I rejoiced when I saw that the church parking lot was full of huge American brand sedans. Nowadays there is no difference between an American, Japanese and European car. America is losing its distinctive edge. And Christians are losing their salt. The purpose of church is not to entertain people in a contemporary service with media gadgets, worldly music and a modern Bible version that has missing, mutilated and misleading verses. I love those gospel hymns we sing called “I’d Rather Be An Old Time Christian” and “I’d Rather Have Jesus”. If you have to choose between TV, cell phone, sports career or Jesus which would you rather have? If you had rather have something else than Jesus then you still have some heart work to do and yield those selfish desires to the Lord, until the Lord is your first love in life.
